Parotta

It was one of the famous street side food in South India. After moving here to US i felt like missing it so much. one day i just tried it by watching on net, it came out so good & tasted as we get from shop. It was yummy...Now me & my husband never feel like missing it....
Ingredients
------------
4 cup Maida
5 tsp Water (approx)
½ tsp Salt
6 tsp Oil
Instructions
-------------

Mix maida, salt, 2 tsp of oil and water. Knead to make a soft dough, like how we make for puris. Put it in a bowl and close it with a plate, let it stay for 30 minutes.

Take one portion and roll it as much as you can. use oil on both the sides to stretch the parottas to a thin size.

Now using both your hands try making pleates and fold them
to and fro. Repeat the whole process for each parotta.

Now roll the both edges into itz center part. Place one edge on the other edge and smash it little bit with ur hand.

Now roll it as we do for making puri. it ll turn back so ur can simple roll with ur hand itself. itis not required to be of big size.

Keep a tawa hot and ready while you do the last stretch. Flame should be on medium high throughout the frying process. let cook for few minutes, now flip on the other side and a tsp of oil, you will see it becoming fluffy, flip one more time.
Using both hands, try to beat it once, just like clapping, to seperate the layers.

Serve hot with Chicken kurma.

Have you tried this? Even if you haven't - let me know what you think!
